Eligibility

Individuals who have experienced harm due to discrimination in the City of Pittsburgh in housing, employment, public accommodations, and/or city services.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Application process

Call, email, or submit an online inquiry. If the Commission has jurisdiction, an intake interview will be scheduled.

Description

Handles complaints of discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, place of birth, citizenship or immigration status (public accommodations and housing only), ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, familial status (housing only), age (employment only), handicap/disability, use of a support animal, protective and cultural hair textures and hairstyles, status as a victim of domestic violence, pregnancy (including partners of pregnant people), childbirth, or related medical conditions and events (employment only), medical marijuana patients (employment only), and gender identity/expression in the areas of employment, housing, and public accommodations and the provision of city services including the police. Provides training regarding civil rights and responsibilities.
