Eligibility

Must be a Schuylkill County homeowner and a Pennsylvania resident. Own and occupy the property facing foreclosure. Experiencing a temporary financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., job loss, medical issues). Demonstrate a reasonable ability to resume full mortgage payments within 36 months. Initiate the application process by scheduling a face-to-face meeting with a PHFA-approved counseling agency within 33 days of receiving an Act 91 Notice.

Description

Assists homeowners in Schuylkill County facing foreclosure due to temporary financial hardship. As a certified housing counseling agency by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), SCA helps homeowners who have received an Act 91 Notice (Notice of Intent to Foreclose) apply for emergency mortgage assistance. This program provides financial support to help homeowners resume mortgage payments and avoid foreclosure.
