Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh - Tangible Aid

Helps individuals and families with one-time needs and tangible assistance. Assistance may include help with rent, utilities, prescriptions, and other needs. Help and amounts vary by conference. Also provides vouchers for clothing, household items, and furniture for use at Saint Vincent de Paul thrift stores. Sponsors a food pantry in Butler that serves over 500 families every month. Food bank members can expect to receive vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products, and non-perishable items. In addition, more than 20 Society Conferences host food pantries and many others provide some form of food assistance.

The EFA refers eligible family living in Allegheny County to a broad network of neighborhood food pantries and community feeding facilities. Use of the emergency pantry is a once-a-year safety net, but every family served is given a neighborhood food pantry referral.
