The EFA refers eligible family living in Allegheny County to a broad network of neighborhood food pantries and community feeding facilities. Use of the emergency pantry is a once-a-year safety net, but every family served is given a neighborhood food pantry referral.

Bags are distributed to children on Fridays or the last day before school holidays in non-descript bags to not draw attention.
