UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Mon Yough - Treatment Accountability (TASC)

Screens clients to determine treatment/non-treatment needs. Provide supportive counseling and assistance with referrals. Provide re-entry services for the substance abusing/dependent client who is transitioning from incarceration or fulfilling criminal justice mandates. Monitor drug/alcohol use by performing breathalyzer tests and urine drug screens and report the results to the assigned probation officer or designee of the Court. Provide case management services to clients who have been in the criminal justice system. Case management provides linkage to treatment facilities if identified; recovery support services including; tangible needs (food, clothing); community resources (self-help groups); various housing needs; education; employment and training; and medical care.

Prison provides minimum to maximum security levels. Average length of stay is approximately 70 days. Those committed and sentenced can be held for periods up to 2 years less one day. The prison offers a wide range of opportunities designed to assist those incarcerated in changing their lifestyle to include educational classes and reentry services to assist them in becoming productive members of their communities. Services available to those incarcerated: Prison Physician: 24-hour medical coverage and emergency services through PrimeCare Medical. Prison Psychiatrist: Mental health and crisis counseling through PrimeCare Medical. Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Education: Individual and group D&A education, guest speakers; weekly Narcotics and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings through community volunteers.
