Hope Partnership for Education - Adult Education Program

Provides adult basic education and continuing education courses. Also offers GED preparation, English as a second language, arts instruction, and family life education. Study skills instruction and tutoring services are also provided.

Wilkes University - SHINE After School Program

Students at the after-school centers will benefit from SHINE’s project-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) curriculum to kindle excitement about learning Educational programs, including homework assistance and STEAM-focused projects, are taught. SHINE locations: Kistler Elementary, Wilkes Barre. --Heights Murrary Elementary,Wilkes Barre In addition to the after-school program for students, monthly parenting activities and support services for families also are provided. SHINE’s Home Visitor program offers support and preparation for academic readiness through weekly home visits to pre-K and kindergarten students and their parents. SHINE also offers summer camp held at Wilkes University, offering hands-on science activities for students enrolled in the program.

SEAMAAC - Education/Youth Programs

Supports students and families who are having challenges with school attendance and performance. Case managers work with families to increase school engagement and connect them to community resources that will support the family. After school programs and summer programs focus on Hip Hop Heritage, cultural connections, and civic engagement.

RSVP Volunteers - My Free Tutor

Virtual math and science tutoring program targeting students in 4th grade through college. Online tutors assist students in basic math and algebra skills. Free tutoring also available for veterans interested in improving their math skills.
