Individuals who plan food and nutrition programs and supervise the preparation and serving of meals. They help to prevent and treat illnesses by promoting healthy eating habits and recommending dietary modifications such as the use of less salt for those with high blood pressure or the reduction of fat and sugar intake for those who are overweight. Dietitians manage food service systems for institutions such as hospitals and schools; provide dietetic and nutritional services for individuals served by public health clinics, home health agencies, health maintenance organizations or their own private practice; promote sound eating habits through education; and conduct research.

Nutrition counseling program supplements the care patients receive from their primary care providers. During counseling sessions, a dietitian will work with patients to assess current nutritional habits and create action plans for the future. The goal of nutrition counseling program is to enable patients to take control of their habits and health.

Nutritional Development Services (NDS) provides food to children and those in need. Partnering with federal and community food programs such as the National School Lunch Program, the Child Care Program, the Summer Food Service Program and the At-Risk After School Snack Program, NDS acts as an intermediary between the hungry and social service nutrition programs in the Delaware Valley area.

Provides opportunities to participate in and benefit from urban farming and gardening, community-led food distribution, health and wellness education, and neighborhood land stewardship.

Serves one-time emergency needs such as nutritional assistance, emergency shelter, first month rental assistance, rent in arrears assistance, mortgage assistance, and utilities in arrears assistance.

Promotes technical assistance and educational programmming on cardiovascular disease, risk factors, signs of a heart attack or stroke, prevention strategies, and when to call 911. A particular emphasis is placed on reaching disparate populations. Promotes the American Heart Asssociation CPR Anytime kit through presentations in community settings or worksites. Promotes and/or hosts online continuing education webinars for healthcare professionals. Provides educational programs on the Food Guide pyramid, BMI (body mass index), Food label reading, and the importance of exercise. Promotes and provides workplace wellness programs that encourage environmental and systems changes that reduce cardiovascular risks.
