Provides KidsPeace provides all adoption services funded and overseen by the Department of Public Welfare. They perform screenings for potential adoptive families and partner with Children's Home Society and Family Services to facilitate adoption of children from other countries. Investigates reports made to our office and work with families, when appropriate, to address conditions which adversely affect a child's care. Our staff work with families directly and also coordinate services with community resources to improve family conditions. In-home Services, Placement Services and Adoption Services are integral to our child protective service function.

St. Joseph's Center has many years of experience working with families during the process of completing home studies for both domestic and international adoptions. The Center is licensed through the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.

Foster care programming recruits, trains, approves and supports families to provide temporary, substitute care for children in need due to abuse, neglect, deprivation, abandonment and/or a guardianâs inability to care for a child. The children are referred through county children and youth agencies. Kinship Care is a 24 hour out-of-home living arrangement providing care and supervision for a child in an approved home of a relative or family friend. Kinship Care homes must meet the same criteria for approval as a foster family home. Adoption programming seeks to ensure permanency for children in foster care, and works closely with our foster care program to ensure that children who are unable to return home experience minimal disruption.

They may also have medical or educational limitations or emotional problems.

As a SWAN affiliate, Friendship House offers all components of the adoptive process including family and child profiles, child-specific recruitment, child preparation and post-adoptive services.
