The West Chester Area Senior Center operates 2 "Second Reading" used book stores. Community book donations are accepted and re-sold for minimal fees with proceeds benefitting the Senior Center.

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health - Reach Out and Read Program

A national program that strengthens the link between literacy and a healthy childhood. Sponsored at LG Health by the United Auxiliaries to the LGH, parents who bring their children to the Health Center for well-child checkups are rewarded for each visit with a new children's book and information on the benefits of reading to young children.

Provides one free book sent directly to a child's home every month until age 5.

Avon Grove Lions Club - Book Barn

Offers used books for adults and children available for sale. All proceeds fund community services. Also donates books free of charge to teachers, area school students, as well as libraries and active military service members overseas. Donations of used books and magazines are welcome.
