Operation Better Block - Neighborhood Improvement

Works to improve the living conditions of the residents of Homewood and promoting community growth and stability. Specific services include assistance with "tangled titles." If the person living in a house is related to the owner or former owner but is not on the deed, the title may be considered "tangled." We may be able to assist in these instances. Call for more information. Assists with facilitation of the Homewood Community Development Collaborative (HCDC). HCDC meets the 2nd Thursday of each month. Philadelphia Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disability Services - Network of Neighbors

Offers trained community members who, acting as trauma responders, support and lead responses to stress, trauma, loss, and violence within their own communities. Responders work alongside community leaders to provide technical assistance, facilitate group interventions, and create healing spaces. Provides Psychological First Aid (PFA) and immediate support following an incident of violence or trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Management (PTSM) interventions including orientation sessions, stabilization groups, coping groups, and self-care discussions. Offers presentations, workshops, and referrals for clinical services and wellness resources.
