Programs that identify public or private sector employers that are willing to take on trainees who learn to perform the tasks that are associated with their position at the work site using the actual tools, equipment, documents and materials that they will use when fully trained. OJT trainees work under the supervision of skilled employees who serve as instructors following a training plan established by the employee, the employer and an external agency, if matching wages are being paid by that agency; and are engaged in productive work and earn a wage as they are trained. Employers may be offered cash training reimbursements (subsidized wages) or other incentives to hire difficult-to-employ individuals and are generally expected to hire the trainees upon successful completion of the training.

Classes are five days per week with a mix of lecture and lab work covering clinical and administrative skills needed for employment at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, blood banks, health care clinics, urgent care sites, and other healthcare centers.

Provides comprehensive case management, remediation, education with special emphasis on individuals with limited English proficiency, skills training, work activities, job placement, and retention activities, as well as providing supportive services, including payment for childcare. Included in EARN are services especially designed to meet the needs of out-of-school pregnant and parenting youth between the ages of 18 to 22, as well as non-assistance custodial or non-custodial fathers. Work activities in EARN include unsubsidized employment, subsidized employment, paid work experience, and community service.

Provides janitorial vocational training services at Letterkenny to qualified persons. Upon acceptance to the program, trainees complete an initial one-day pre-training and during this time their wage is determined; their pay is performance-based. Trainees are then supervised by team crew leaders who provide continual job coaching and training. Trainees can remain in our program until they have met specific productivity and behavioral criteria. Once those criteria are met, the Employment Specialists are responsible for helping the trainee obtain competitive employment within the community.

Prepares students for employment in the human services field. Provides training and classroom instruction in how to apply the Strengths-based approach when providing services to clients and families. Also provides professional development workshops, mentoring, digital literacy training, 10-week professional development pre-apprenticeship, and other apprenticeship opportunities.

Offers eight to twelve-week OJT training program designed to support adults who have been out of the workforce or who experience barriers to employment to find and maintain stable, career pathway positions in the food service industry. Provides wraparound services for students, including stipends, transportation, uniforms, case management, life skills classes, and referrals for supplemental services such as child care and housing.

Offers internships to graduate students in Psychology or Social Work programs. A graduate intern will receive extensive training on sexual assault, treatment issues, working with children, working with adults, and responding to crisis situations. This training occurs in September and is required.

Offers an electrician training program in three, hybrid (Zoom and in-person), 10-week courses. Courses take place one night per week and addresses electrical safety, theory, tools, circuits, equipment, materials/wiring, and calculations. Six weeks per course offer optional in-person, hands-on performance tasks at real time service calls where students apply learning and do the work. Training is appropriate for beginning careers in residential, commercial, industrial, and lineman jobs.

Prepares individuals with barriers to employment to become qualified candidates for tellers, customer service representatives, and personal banker positions.

Offers customized job training and job placement services for those who are interested in energy-oriented careers and "smart energy" trade jobs. Graduates of the 8-week course obtain OSHA-10 Certification, are eligible to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Associates exam, and are eligible to apply for available employment positions with Philadelphia OIC’s employment partners.
