The Pennsylvania National Guard's Resilience, Risk Reduction, & Suicide Prevention (R3SP) Program develops policy, conducts training and provides education on building resilience, mitigating stress and suicide prevention for the Service and Family members of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. The program consists of three sections:

• Suicide Prevention: The Suicide Prevention Program gives Soldiers the necessary skills to identify signs, symptoms, risk factors of suicide and the ability to successfully intervene. The program encourages Soldiers to be proactive in seeking assistance and strives to eliminate the stigma associated with behavioral health. • Resilience: The Resilience Program gives Soldiers and Families the training and skills to think, live and communicate more positively. The training focuses on 7 core compete

Oversees management and coordination of care to mental health and substance abuse treatment services available. Provides direct collaborative planning with each county’s Human Services System and through a subcontract with PerformCare to provide day-to-day operations. These duties include care management, utilization review, claims payment, complaint and grievance management, provider network development and credentialing, and quality assurance activities.

Provides information and referral to support the dignity, respect, and human rights of persons diagnosed with mental illness. Also provides advocacy, training, education and peer support.

A local program to provide in-school student assemblies, teacher in-services, and community or workplace assemblies providing education on mental health awareness; including how to identify at-risk behaviors to prevent suicide, and where to seek local help. Support for those affected by suicide is also provided; trained volunteers offer peer support to the newly bereaved.

Contracts with area mental health agencies to provide comprehensive mental health services, Mental Health intake specialist assists each person or family seeking services to identify the presenting problem, complete necessary social, familial, and medical to develop an initial service plan.

Office of Mental Health provides treatment and supports for residents with serious and persistent mental illness.

Offers linkages to and referrals for primary care physicians, Trans competent therapists, staffing agencies, GED/college entry programs, and internship-to-paid position opportunities. Offers presentations designed for a range of audiences including Latino communities, African American communities, mental health advocates, middle- and high school students and staff, congregations of all faith traditions, and persons with both mental health and physical health challenges.

Provides mental health education for all family members as well as community members. Covers diagnoses, treatment options, aftercare, and supports. Also offers multifamily group sessions.

Also provides trauma education and training for staff of partner community organizations designed to help staff support one another while working in vulnerable communities impacted by gun violence.

Helps members to understand Mental Health Advance Directives and, if desired, assist in completing one. Offers training sessions to groups on this subject.

Promotes the agency's services and provides suicide prevention/intervention training. Training is provided in one-hour sessions or two-day workshops.

Provides school-based prevention program that provides goal-oriented mental health services to elementary-aged students. Created to address barriers to learning at the elementary level. Services may be provided individually, within the classroom, and within groups, based on the needs of the student.

Provides students, parents & group education presentations, STD educational information, drug & alcohol resources and referrals. Also offers a variety of resources and referrals for mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault and more.

Provides information and referral to consumers or family members regarding mental health needs, services, and support.

Offers a wellness course that runs 8-12 weeks, meeting weekly for two hours. Participants identify internal and external resources for facilitating recovery, and then use these tools to create their own, individualized plan for successful living; develop a crisis plan, which states how the person would like to be treated in times of crisis (similar to an advance directive for inpatient psychiatric care), as well as a post-crisis plan for back on the road to recovery.

Offers mental health counseling and substance use disorder services. Includes information on admission, care, treatment, release, and patient follow-up in public or private psychiatric residential facilities.

Provides a team that includes both Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS) and Certified Family Recovery Specialists (CFRS). These professionals are in active recovery and utilize their shared experience to support the development and maintenance of the recovery programs for individuals. Through advocacy, community linkage, peer-to-peer coaching, and empowerment, a CRS/CFRS can help strengthen a recovery program at any stage. CRS services are mobile and flexible to meet the individualized need of each participant.
