United Way of Wyoming Valley - Nurse's Pantry

Elementary students are introduced to The Nurse’s Pantry through school nurses, principals and guidance counselors. In addition to attire, The Nurse’s Pantry also provides hygiene items, appropriate footwear, outerwear, undergarments, and lice treatment kits. The United Way has created and facilitates The Nurse’s Pantry in 34 schools throughout the Wyoming Valley.

Provides a peer support program designed specifically for children and their families who have suffered the death of a loved one, such as a parent, sibling, grandparent, or close family member. Offers an environment where grieving children and their families can discover they are not alone in their grief by interacting with others who have encountered similar losses.

Community Guidance Center - Psychiatric Services

Provides comprehensive psychiatric services that include psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and medication management. Specialty Programs include: Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) for adults, is a 3 or 5-day program based upon clinical acuity. Partial Hospitalization Program (ALPHA PHP) for children and adolescents, grades K through 12, includes academic instruction and is a year-round program. Psychiatric Rehabilitation is a voluntary, non-clinical program that helps restore community functionality for individuals with mental illness.
