Guthrie Health System - Guthrie Patient Assistance Fund

Guthrie offers several funding sources to existing Guthrie patients such as the Cancer Care Fund and the Veterans Patient Assistance Fund. In addition, the Mark Stensager Human Service Fund offers limited financial help to employees, patients of Guthrie, and people of our community based on emergent needs. Assists with the following bills: medical (physician verified), prescriptions (must receive fax from doctor's office verifying prescription), electric (no CAP recipients), gas (no CAP recipients), water, local phone bill payment/connection (up to $20), and bus passes/gas vouchers (employment or medical purposes).

Assists with rent, utility bills, clothing, medical bills, and other necessities. This assistance may include emergency service delivery and/or referrals/consultations to other agencies or organizations with the means to solve the problem. No funds are given to individuals - instead, all payments are made directly to landlords and other vendors.

Northeast Regional Cancer Institute - Community-Based Cancer Screening Navigation Program

Provides help with low income, uninsured, and underinsured individuals who are not up to date with breast, cervical, colon and lung cancer screenings. This program provides individualized assistance to guide participants through the process of screening and if necessary, treatment and aftercare. The program also includes help finding resources to overcome barriers to screening, such as transportation and childcare needs, as well as matching participants with a primary care physician/practice for future preventative care.

The Bob Perks Fund was established to provide financial support for basic necessities to individuals and families dealing with cancer. The goal is to assist with basic necessities that patients cannot temporarily afford due to their illness.

Provides emergency funding for rent, medical bills, food, and utilities and affordable apartments for low-income seniors. Also offers scholarships for high school seniors and adults age 26 and older.

Wellspan Health - Franklin County - WellSpan Health Care Program

Operates Chambersburg and Waynesboro Hospital's Financial Assistance Program, also referred to as Summit Care. Exists to provide discounted emergent or medically necessary services to eligible patients. Eligible Services are emergent or medically necessary healthcare services provided and billed by Summit hospitals. Some exclusions apply, such as cosmetic procedures, non-emergent care that is sought out of network, or non-emergent services sought without regard to preauthorization requirements.

WellSpan Health - Healthy Community Network

Access to doctor visits, emergency visits, labs, x-rays, and other testing are eligible for discounts. Serves residents in four counties: Adams, Lancaster, Lebanon and York. HealthyCare Card (HCC) is a program of Healthy Community Network (HCN). HCN is a collaboration with Health care providers and social service agencies who are committed to working together to improve access to healthcare services for those in our region who are uninsured or under-insured. A person must enroll in health insurance if eligible for it. (For example: Medicare, Medicaid or commercial insurance through a job. A completed application with proof of income and assets will determine what discounts a person may be eligible to receive. Wayne Memorial Health System - Women's Health Center

Designed to serve the needs of low-income or financially-challenged women by helping them have a positive pregnancy experience. Care coordinators assist women with the required paperwork to receive supplemental or free services. Programming ensures that the expectant mother will receive necessary obstetric services that might have otherwise not been availabel due to lack of insurance.

Patrician Society - Housing Utilities Medical Aid for Neighbors Program

Provides third-party payments for partial rental or mortgage assistance, heating oil or electric bills, and miscellaneous expenses for uninsured or underinsured clients. Assistance is limited to one time each calendar year. Allocates available aid resources as equitably and effectively as possible in order to best serve the most clients.

ThinkBIG - Pediatric Cancer Fund

Supports families of pediatric cancer patients throughout central and northeast Pennsylvania. Unlike other funds, 90% of the money donated to ThinkBIG goes directly towards supporting families. ThinkBIG does not pay the salary of patient care providers, provide funds to support renovations to the local children's hospital, or allocate money to pediatric cancer research.
